Telescope-making workshops
Build your own telescope for a school, society or group. Materials and optics are provided.
Building your own telescope is a fun and satisfying activity. When it is finished and you take it under the night sky for “first light”, seeing the wonders of space through an instrument you made with your own hands is an out-of-this-world feeling.
We run telescope-making workshops for schools, societies and groups.
In the workshop we explain the basics of optics, how a telescope works, and the principles of light and the physics behind it. We provide all the material and optics (lens or mirror) needed. The workshop is the way to build and customise a telescope from scratch.
